communication with ALOM is possible and all indications from the
"showenvironment" command are normal.

Cause

 NVRAM needs to be reset.

Solution

Resolution
The problem was resolved by resetting the NVRAM. This was done through the
use of the ALOM command "bootmode reset_nvram".

Note that this command is issued from the ALOM prompt "sc>".

sc> bootmode reset_nvram
sc> reset -y

The cause of the hang after POST is unknown.
