Solution

Verify operating system is configured correctly to support the HP LTO drive.

Confirm that the version of Backup Application has full driver support for the HP LTO tape drives.

If all operating system and backup software configuration has been confirmed, and the drive still writes slow, make sure drive has been cleaned properly.

If problem persists, open a Service Request via MOS to have CSE run read/write and compression tests on the drive to test functionality.

Replace drive as necessary.
