Cause

Firmware  or tape drive problem. The tape drive determined that a firmware or tape drive hardware
failure occurred.

Solution

Resolution
The tape drive determined that a firmware or tape drive hardware problem occurred.

1. Collect a drive dump: see IBM LTO Setup and Operator's Guide page 67, table 15.  >Current products-> Tape ->

LTO Ultrium Tape Drive for IBM->Setup, Operator, & Service Guide GEN2 SCSI AND FIBRE (under manuals and guides).

2. Power the tape drive off and on, then retry the operation that produced the error. The error
code clears when you power-off the tape drive or place it in maintenance mode.

3. If the problem persists, update firmware and retry the operation.  If new firmware is not available, replace the drive.
