Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1013620.1 : C2/C4 - Showing Wrong Vendor Name or Product Name Back to BUS
PreviouslyPublishedAs 219193 Oracle Confidential PARTNER - Available to partners (SUN). Reason: Confidential information provided to Oracle and Partner Service Personnel Applies to:Sun Storage C4 Tape Library - Version Not Applicable and laterSun Storage C2 Tape Autoloader - Version Not Applicable and later All Platforms SymptomsWrong product name Changesna CauseWrong info put in library during manufacturing. SolutionResolution ----example ---- LUN 0 (This is the Changer) Vendor Name ATL Product Name P2000 Revision 000B SCSI OS LUN 0 In the case shown here, the display shows as a Vendor = ATL and a Product = P2000 with code verson 11. The P2000 is an emulation mode which seems to be set on the SCB. This is done over telnet into the GUI C4 online tool with the Service password as stated in Document 1014155.1 . 1. You log in to setup then go to partitions, if you can check the emulate P-series to be a ATL P2000 and if you don't, you are a Quantum PX502 (SUN C4) type. 2. Change back to C4. -- You want this Box to be un-checked so it will report being a Quantum PX502 which is what our C4 is: LUN 0 (This is the Changer) Vendor Name QUANTUM Product Name PX500 Revision 000B SCSI OS LUN 0 OS Device Name \\.\Tape0 For the situation shown above with ATL type P2000 and code version 11, just load V26 or current code level at that time to upgrade the code level.. 1014155.1 for C4 password reset information.
See the attached photo. The SCB card has multiple Vendor Names and Product Names stored in it and could have the wrong one set.
