Symptoms

SLS6645I VTSS is 99% full
SLS6703I Host HHHH is performing AUTO MIGRATION to target N% on VTSS XXXXXXXX
HSC is not active on the host listed in the SLS6703I message.

Cause

Although message SLS6703I indicates auto migration is actively running on another host, auto migration is not actually running because that HSC is down.

A host that becomes inoperable while resources are being used makes those resources unavailable to any other host. This can happen when HSC is canceled and not allowed to come down clean.

Solution

Issue the HSC command to recover AUTO MIGRATION. Example follows:

RECover host-id
