Solaris[TM] 10 is unable to connect to SANBox1

luxadm -e port

Error: FCIO_GET_TOPOLOGY ioctl failed.
Could not get the fca port topology. - /devices/ssm@0,0/pci@19,700000/SUNW,qlc@2/fp@0,0:devctl.

Cause

  Flash Version 4.02.26 - Solaris 10

Solution

Solaris{TM} 10 has problems to connect to SANbox1 running Flash Version 4.02.26. Note: SANbox1 is a discontinued product and thus this infodoc in maintained as a reference to identify possible issue with the above referenced Flash version in the event it is still being used.

If the switch port is configured for
fabric point-to-point (G port), luxadm -e port fails with
Error: FCIO_GET_TOPOLOGY ioctl failed.
If the port is configured as GL port luxadm -e port
shows the port as connected but cfgadm does not report SE3510
LUNs.
Upgrade to Flash Version 04.02.38 solves the problem.
This flash version is available with SUNWsmgr2 aka SANsurfer.
