Symptoms

Unable to login to ALOM+ card on Sun Fire[TM] V490, V890 when no OS is loaded on the system. When connected to the ALOM+ card you are able to get to a login prompt but are unable to login. You are able to input login and password but nothing lets you log into the ALOM+ card.

Cause

The ALOM+ card in the Sun Fire[TM] V490 and V890 requires that Remote System Control (RSC) 2.2.2 or RSC 2.2.3 software is installed at the OS level.

The ALOM+ card in the Sun Fire[TM] V490 and V890 requires that Remote System Control (RSC) 2.2.2 or RSC 2.2.3 software is installed at the OS level.
You must install and configure the Remote System Control software before you can use ALOM+ card. Remote System Control software is included as part of the default installation set on the Solaris Software Supplement CD that came with your operating system. You must install RSC 2.2.2 or RSC 2.2.3 server components only on a compatible server running the Solaris[TM] Operating System.
