"uname -a" or "uname -i" run on Sun Fire[TM] 12K (SF12K), Sun Fire[TM] 20K (20K) % uname -a This can be confusing. CauseThis is OK since platform implementation is not different between SF12/20/25K and Sun Fire 15K (SF15K) as far as Solaris [TM] is concerned. SolutionOne way to check system name is to run the following commands: % prtconf -vp System Configuration: Sun Microsystems sun4u Memory size: 122880 Megabytes System Peripherals (PROM Nodes): Node 0xf0029598 boot-retained-page: clock-frequency: 08f092ea stick-frequency: 00beb6e8 banner-name: 'Sun Fire E20K' ... %prtdiag -v System Configuration: Sun Microsystems sun4u Sun Fire E20K System clock frequency: 150 MHz Memory size: 122880 Megabytes ...
