On Ultra[TM] 80 or Ultra[TM] 60, a defective audio module may cause bad behavior of keyboard.

The cause of this issue has been identified as a faulty Audio Module

For example:

Press a key and it keeps displaying continuously, stopping only after typing other keys, while the keyboard illuminates all the LEDs.
In This example, the behavior remains the same even after replacing the keyboard.
It may also show the message: WARNING: kbd: Too many keys down! in the messages file.

This behavior was observed in systems with latest firmware - OBP 3.31.0 2001/07/25 20:31 POST 2.0.3 2000/07/31 15:28

Resolution

Please open an Oracle Service Request for verification of a need for an Audio Module and/or further diagnostics.
