Symptoms

I have several USB storage devices attached to my PCs. Can I use those same USB devices with Solaris[TM] on my SPARC Workstation or Entry Level Server?

Cause

USB Device Compatibility concerns.

Solution

At the present time only a selected group of  USB storage devices are certified to work with Solaris[TM]  Sun Blade[TM] series and Entry Level Servers. However, any USB device conforming to a 'class' driver will most likely work with Solaris[TM].  The chances are very good if the device is installed on a late model Sun[TM] SPARC computer it will work. For a complete list of products that are Solaris Ready or Verified, reference the Hardware Compatibility List Website and Solaris Ready site for serial devices

You may also contact the USB device manufacturer for their Solaris and SPARC compatibility information.
