Symptoms

If a customer with an E220r issues the boot, reset, init 6, reboot, or init 5 command, the system just sits there with the word "resetting" on the screen.

Cause

 Improper CPU location

Solution

Powering off and then on the system will allow it to boot properly.

Check for number of processors. If POST, prtdiag, or psrinfo shows only one processor, check to see in which UPA slot it is installed. It should be installed in J0101, not J0201. If the CPU is in slot J0201, you should have it moved to J0101. Moving it to UPA slot 0 will resolve this problem.
