Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Controller restarts may occur on FS1-2 systems running system firmware version 6.2.10 or lower. This can lead to the Controllers hanging on restart and impacting system availability.

Impact

Issues with the FS1-2 Controller resource exhaustion may cause one or both Controllers to go offline. This could lead to loss of data access.

Changes

Contributing Factors

This issue can occur on any FS1-2 Flash Storage System that does not have system firmware version 6.2.11-457-04 (or later) installed.

Note: Customers who successfully upgraded to 6.2.11 do not need to upgrade to 6.2.11-457-04 as the fixes in 6.2.11-457-04 were cosmetic related to invalid compatibility warnings.

Cause

The transport mechanism between Controllers and Pilots may run out of resources causing the Controller to restart. This can also result in the Controllers hanging on restart and impacting system availability.

Solution

Target Completion Date: 30-Nov-2017

Workaround

No workaround – See Resolution section below.

Resolution

This issue is addressed with Firmware version 6.2.11-457-04 (or higher).

Proactive resolution of this issue is dependent on the current Firmware version installed on the FS1-2.

Service Requests will be opened for all contract customers not known to be running 6.2.11-0457-04 or higher. Oracle Support will evaluate the system prior to the upgrade to ensure the upgrade is successful.

Please reference the FCO380 SR Creation Process for instructions on opening a Service Request for this issue.

Note: Customers who successfully upgraded to 6.2.11 do not need to upgrade to 6.2.11-457-04 as the fixes in 6.2.11-457-04 were cosmetic related to invalid compatibility warnings.

Upon receipt of an SR the TSE will follow the process described in <document:2259024.1> "FS System: TSE Work Instructions for FCO 380".
