Impact The X3-2L (formerly Sun Fire X4270 M3) and the X4-2L platforms are not impacted by this issue as it uses a different power supply. ChangesFailures generally occur 200-300 days after install. Dispatches have been higher than expected for a few manufacturing date codes, but overall failure rate is less than 3%. CauseA diode within the power supply is the root cause of this issue. Services spares were cleaned up via GSAP 6239. SolutionWorkaround This is a Conditional FCO. Most PSU failures are to be resolved via standard fix-on-fail process. Upon experiencing a loss of AC Input power resulting in a failed PSU with part number 7038476, 7047410 or 7060951 replace with 7079395. Only the failed PSU should be replaced - this FCO does not authorize the replacement of both power supplies in the impacted system. Evaluation for meeting failure criteria is the sole discretion of Level-2 TSC engineers. Attn TSC- when using ATR to order a PSU replacement for this FCO make sure to choose the "Field Change Order/FCO" option in the Problem Overview field of the Dispatch Instructions and fill in "A0337-1" on the right side of the template for the FCO Number. This step is required for proper tracking of PSUs that have been replaced due to this issue. Any requests to replace PSUs that have not failed must be addressed via the CCR process. Power Supply part numbers 7038476, 7047410 or 7060951 that have failed with Fault class : fault.chassis.power.ext-fail.
