Contributing FactorsEthernet switch port with auto-negotiation disabled on the following platforms:
Symptoms Connecting the controller ethernet port to an Ethernet Switch port with auto-negotiation disabled may lead the management application CAM (Common Array Manager) to lose the out-of-band connection with the controller. A similar alarm as the following one could be reported in CAM: Site : <site name>Root Cause The above listed arrays, with 06.xx firmware, do not support the Ethernet Switch port with auto-negotiation disabled. Workaround 1. The field should check the auto-negotiation mode on the Ethernet Switch port connected to the controller. Resolution: The firmware 07.xx supports the modification of the array ethernet speed and/or duplex by using the array management software. Nevertheless, the recommendation is to use auto-negotiation if at all possible.
