Sun Fire X4800 and Sun Fire X4800 M2 Front Panel LEDs

Locate White Identifies the server in a rack:
  • Off: Normal.
  • Blinking: Blinks when activated by the Locate button or ILOM.

Fault Amber Indicates a fault condition in one of the CPU modules (CMOD):
  • Off: Normal.
  • On: Solid when a CMOD component (DIMM or CPU) is in a fault state.

Power Green Indicates the power status of the server:
  • Quick Blink: During SP boot.
  • Slow Blink: In standby power mode (post SP boot).
  • On: Solid when in full power mode.

Power button None
  • Press once to power on to full power mode from standby power mode.
  • Press once to perform a graceful power-off from full power mode to standby power mode.
  • Press and hold for four seconds to perform an immediate shutdown from full power to standby power mode.

Over-temperature Amber Indicates an over-temperature condition within the server.
  • Off: Normal.
  • On: Solid when the internal server temperature exceeds the upper threshold.

Hot Swap LED Blue Off:Normal operation.
Steady on: The system indicates that the drive is ready to be removed.

Fault Amber Off:Normal operation.
Steady on: The system has detected a fault with the disk.

Activity Green Blink: Drive activity, standby.
Off: Power is off or no drive activity.

 

 

Sun Fire X4800 Service Processor LEDs

Reference # LED Name LED Color Activity
1 10/1000/1000Base-T Ethernet LED (left). Green On: Link established at 1 gigabit.
Amber On: Link established at 100 megabits. Amber LED indicates that the link established is not at full capacity for that port.
Amber Off: Link established at 10 megabits. Amber LED indicates that the link established is not at full capacity for that port.
2 10/1000/1000Base-T Ethernet LED (right). Green On: Link activity.
Amber On: Solid when the server is in a fault state.
Amber Off: Normal.
3 Chassis PowerOK LED Green Indicates the power status of the server.
Off: When AC power cords are disconnected.
On: Solid when in full power mode.
Blinks: Quickly during SP boot (when AC power cords are connected to the server.
Blinks: Slowly in standby power mode (post SP boot).
4 Chassis Over-temperature LED Amber Indicates an over-temperature condition within the server.
Off: Normal.
On: Solid when the internal server temperature exceeds the upper threshold.
5 SP module PowerOK LED Green Indicates the power status of the SP module.
Off: Normal.
On: Solid when the internal server temperature exceeds the upper threshold. Blinks: Quickly during SP boot (when AC power cords are connected to the server.
Blinks: Slowly in standby power mode (post SP boot).

1 Service Action Required (fault) Amber Indicates a power supply fault condition:
Off: Normal.
On: Solid when the power supply is in a fault state.
2 Power OK LED Green Indicates the power status.
3 AC LED Green On: AC is connected
Off: AC is not connected
