Sun Fire X4500 LEDs
The Sun Fire X4500 server provides the following LED groupings:
Sun Fire X4500 Front Panel LEDs

The three front panel LEDs are located on the left hand side of the front panel
above the DVD-ROM drive. These LEDs provide a quick visual check on the state of the system.

Aids location of the server in a crowded server room.
Can be turned on or off remotely by software control such as ILOM or Solaris.
Press the button to turn on or off.
Pressing the Locate LED/Switch for five seconds turns all indicators on for 15 seconds.

System Fault LED / Amber |
On |
Alert/Service action is required. The service required LED will illuminate when any of the following conditions occur:
A fault is detected by the system diagnostics, such as POST
When a FRU fails, such as a power supply

Power OK LED / Green |
Off |
Power is off. |
Steady On |
Power is on. |
Blink |
Server is in standby power mode. |
Power On/OFF Button |

This button is recessed to prevent accidental server power-off.
Use a stylus to either:
- press and release the button to power the server on.
or
- press and hold the Power button for four seconds to force main power off and enter standby power mode.

Powers the system on or puts the server in standby power mode.
This button is recessed to prevent accidental server power-off.
Use a stylus to either:
- press and release the button to power the server on.
or
- press and hold the Power button for four seconds to force main power off and enter standby power mode.

Power on/off Button |
Powers the system on or puts the server in standby power mode. This button is recessed to prevent accidental server power-off. Use a stylus to press and release the button to power the server on. Press and hold the Power button for four seconds to force main power off and enter standby power mode.
When main power is off, the Power/OK LED on the front panel will begin blinking,
indicating that the server is in standby power mode.
There is no Power On/Off button on the rear panel.
