SPARC M5-32 / M6-32 LEDs

The SPARC M5-32 / M6-32 servers provide the following LED groupings:

SPARC M5-32 / M6-32 Front/Rear Panel LEDs

LED Name LED color Description
Locator LED button
White You can light the Locate LED button to identify the component/server. When on, the LED blinks rapidly. You can light the Locator LED in two ways::
  • Issuing the ILOM command
    set /SYS/LOCATE value=Fast_Blink
  • Pressing the Locator button
Note: When you light the locator LED button, any previously blinking LEDs on the panel will blink at the same fast rate as the locator LED. When you switch off the Locator LED, any previously blinking LEDs will return to their previous blink rate.
Fault LED Amber

Indicates that a service action is required.

  • Use the ILOM show faulty command to display details about any faults that cause this indicator to light.
  • Under some fault conditions, individual component fault LEDs light in addition to the Fault LED.
Note: The system Fault LED and the SP LED light while the service processor boots. This is normal behavior. The green OK LEDs light when the service processor has finished booting.
Power OK LED Off Indicates the system is not running in its normal state. System power might be off or in standby mode. The service processor might be running.
Green - Steady On Normal operating state
Green - Fast Blink Indicates the system is running at a minimum level in standby and is ready to be quickly returned to full function.
Green - Slow Blink Indicates that a normal transitory activity is taking place. This could indicate the system diagnostics are running, or that the system is booting.
Power on/off Button n/a Toggles the system on and off.
  • When the server is shut down, press briefly to power on and return the server to its previously configured operating configuration.
  • When the server is powered on, press briefly to shut the server down gracefully.
  • When the server is powered on, press and hold for at least 5 seconds to perform an emergency shut down.
Caution - Electrical Hazard. After using the Power On/Standby button, you must switch off the circuit breakers on your facility power grid in order to power off the server completely. The server will remain on standby power until you switch the facility circuit breakers off.
SP LED Off The server is not receiving power. For example, the power cords are not connected or the facility power grid circuit breakers are switched off.
Green - Steady On SPs are running in their normal operating state.
Green - Blink SPs are initializing the ILOM firmware.
Note: The system Fault LED and the SP LED light while the service processor boots. This is normal behavior. The green OK LEDs light when the service processor has finished booting.
