Operator Panel LEDs

The operator panel LEDs can be viewed while the front door of the server is closed to check the operating state of the server and to perform system power operations.
LED Name / Color Status Description
Power / Green
On
Server has power.
Off
Server is without power.
XSCFU Standby / Green
On
Indicates that the system can be powered on.
Off
Indicates that the system cannot be powered on.
Blinking
Indicates that initialization processing of the SPARC Enterprise Server is in progress after main line switches were switched on.
Check / Amber
On
Indicates that the server cannot be started.
Off
Normal, or the breaker is off (power failure).
Blinking
Indicates that the operator panel is the maintenance target device or device that needs maintenance.

Error occurred in the XSCFU

  • Warm-up standby processing is in progress (power-on is delayed)
  • Power-on sequence is in progress
  • System is in operation
Blinking On Off
  • Power-off sequence is in progress
  • Fan termination is being delayed

XSCFU LEDs

XSCFU and I/O (for LAN ports)
Ready
On (green)
Indicates that the XSCFU is active and cannot be removed.
Off
Indicates that the XSCFU can be replaced.
Blinking
Indicates that the XSCFU is being initialized.


Active
On (green) Indicates that the XSCFU is in use (active).
Off Indicates that the XSCFU is in the normal state.




Check
On (amber) After power on has completed, indicates an error detected in the XSCFU. 
Off Indicates that the XSCFU is in the normal state.
Blinking (amber) Indicates that the XSCFU is a replacement target.
Active
On (green)
Indicates that the communication is being performed through the Ethernet port (LAN).
Off
Indicates that no communication is being performed through the LAN port.
Link Speed
On (amber)
Indicates that the communication speed for the I/O Unit (IOU) is 1G bps.
On (green)
Indicates that the communication speed is 100M bps.
Off
Indicates that the communication speed is 10M bps.

PCI Card (mounted in an IOU) LEDs

Power
On (green)
Indicates that the power to the PCI slot is turned on. The PCI card cannot be removed.
Off
Indicates that the power to the PCI slot is turned off. The PCI card can be removed.
Attention
On (amber)
Indicates that an error occurred in the PCI slot.
Off
Indicates the normal state of the PCI slot.
Blinking (amber)
Indicates that the card in this PCI slot is a target device for replacement.

PCI Card (inside an External I/O Expansion Unit) LEDs

LED Type Status Description
Power
On (green)
Indicates that the PCI board is operating. The PCI board cannot be removed.
Off
Indicates that the power to the PCI slot is turned off. The PCI card can be removed.
Blinking (amber)
Indicates that the PCI board is operating. The PCI board cannot be removed (cannot be replaced).
Attention
On (amber)
Indicates that an error occurred in the PCI slot.
Off
Indicates the normal state of the PCI slot.
Blinking (amber)
Indicates that the card in this PCI slot is a target device for replacement.

External I/O Expansion Unit LEDs

LED Type Status Description
Power
On (green)
Indicates that the External I/O Expansion unit is operating. The External I/O Expansion unit cannot be removed.
Off
Indicates that the External I/O Expansion unit is stopped. The External I/O Expansion unit can be replaced.
Blinking (green)
Indicates that the External I/O Expansion unit is on standby.
Attention
On (amber)
Indicates that an error occurred in the hardware of the External I/O Expansion unit.
Off
Indicates that the hardware of the External I/O Expansion unit is normal.
Blinking (amber)
Indicates that the External I/O Expansion unit is to be replaced.
Over Temperature
On (amber)
Indicates that the temperature inside the External I/O Expansion unit is abnormal (high).
Off
Indicates that the temperature inside the External I/O Expansion unit is normal.
Blinking (amber)

Power Supply Unit (inside an External I/O Expansion Unit) LEDs

LED Type Status Description
LED_AC
On (green)
Indicates that the AC power reception is normal.
Off
Indicates that the power supply is interrupted.
LED_DC
On (green)
Indicates that the DC power reception is normal.
Off
Indicates that a power failure occurred of the PSU has failed.
Attention
On (amber)
Indicates that an error occurred in the hardware of the PSU.
Off
Indicates that the PSU hardware is normal.
Blinking
Indicates that the PSU is a target device for replacement.

Power Supply Unit LEDs

Power
On (green)
Indicates power is on and normal.
Off
Indicates power is not being supplied to the PSU.
Blinking
Indicates that power is being supplied to the PSU but the PSU is not turned on.
Attention
On (amber)
Indicates an error occurred in the PSU. Maintenance can be performed.
Off
Indicates the PSU is normal.
PRFL
On (amber)
Indicates the rotational speed of the cooling fan in the PSU is abnormal.
Off
Indicates the rotational speed of the cooling fan in the PSU is normal.

Disk Drives, Fans, CPU/Memory Board Unit, Clock Control Unit and Crossbar Unit LEDs

LED Type Status Description
Ready
On (green)
Indicates the FRU is operating. The FRU cannot be disconnected and removed from the system.
Off
Indicates the FRU is stopped and disconnected from the system and is replaceable.
Blinking (green)
Indicates either that the FRU is being incorporated into or disconnected from the system.
Check
On (amber)
Indicates an error has been detected in the FRU hardware. (For an HDD, the LED is lit according to the instruction from the software or middleware.)
Off
Indicates the normal state of the FRU.
Blinking (amber)
Indicates the FRU is to be replaced, or indicates the location of a FRU to be replaced.
