Oracle Database Appliance Front Panel LEDs

LED Name LED Color Description
Service Action Required Amber
  • OFF - Normal operation
  • STEADY ON - Fault present on system or a subsystem within the chassis.
Power / OK Green STANDBY BLINK - Standby power is on, but chassis power is off, and Oracle ILOM is running. The LED blinks at a 10 percent duty cycle.
SLOW BLINK - The startup sequence has been initiated on the host. The LED blinks at a 50 percent duty cycle. This status indicates either 1) power-on self-test (POST) diagnostics is running on the system host or 2) the host is transitioning from the powered-on state to the standby state on shutdown.
STEADY ON - The system is powered on and all host POST tests passed. The system is in one of the following states: 1) the system host is ready to boot, or 2) the system host is booting the operating system (OS), or 3) the system host is ruinning the OS.
SP OK / FAULT Green OFF - No power is supplied to the SP or it is not functional.
STEADY ON - Service Processor is fully functional.
SLOW BLINK - For POST, diagnostics are running on SP, or Oracle ILOM is booting, or firmware is updating.
Amber OFF - Service Processor is operating properly or is off.
STEADY ON - Service Processor is faulty.
NOTE: The amber LED indicates the status of the watchdog timer. The watchdog timer runs continuously but it will time out if it is not reset by Oracle ILOM.
Locate White OFF - Normal operation.
FAST BLINK - An operator can use Oracle ILOM to turn this indicator on so as to quickly and easily locate a particlular system in the rack.
System Controller Ready to Remove Blue OFF - Normal operation.
FAST BLINK - A customer-replaceable unit (CRU) (disk drive, fan module, or power supply) is being placed in a state to allow safe removal.
STEADY ON - Indicates the CRU can be safely removed.
Rear HDD/PS/Fan Fault Amber OFF - Normal operation.
STEADY ON - The system has detected a rear disk drive, fan module, or power supply fault.
System Over Temperature Amber OFF - Normal operation.
STEADY ON - The system is experiencing an over-temperature warning condition.

 

 

Oracle Database Appliance Disk Drive LEDs

LED Name LED Color Description
Ready to Remove Blue OFF- Normal operation.
STEADY ON - Disk can be removed safely during a hot-plug operation
Service Action Required Amber OFF - Normal operation.
STEADY ON - System has detected a fault with a disk drive.
NOTE: The front and rear Service Action Required LEDs are lit if the system detects a disk drive fault
OK / Activity Green ON - The disk drive has been installed into the system and is recognized, but there is no disk activity.
BLINK- There is disk drive activity. LED blinks randomly on and off depending on activity.
OFF - The disk drive is powered off or the installed disk drive is not recognized by the system.

Oracle Database Appliance Power Supply LEDs

LED Name LED Color Description
Service Action Required Amber OFF - Normal operation; no service action required.
STEADY ON - Power supply has detected a PS fan failure, PS over temperature, PS over / under voltage.
DC OK Green STEADY ON - Normal operation. DC output voltage is within specification.
OFF - 12 volt power is disabled.
AC OK Green OFF - No AC power is present.
STEADY ON - Normal operation. Input power is above minimum specification.

 

 

Oracle Database Appliance Fan Module LEDs

LED Name LED Color Description
OK Green STEADY ON - Fan is properly installed and functioning correctly. No fan errors detected.
OFF - Chassis 3.3V Stand-by power is off or there is a fan fault.
Service Action Required Amber System is running; fan module is faulty. The front and rear Service Action Required LEDs are also lit if the system detects a fan module fault
