Acme Packet Part Numbers
Many Acme Packet part numbers, at the time of acquisition by Oracle, appear similar to the part number format used by Sun Microsystems prior to January 2011.
The third field of a Sun part number was the dash level of the same part. The
third field of an Acme Packet part number can identify a completely different part.
Do not presume that ordering the highest number in the third field of an Acme Packet part number will provide the latest version, this may actually result in receiving an incompatible part.
- The first field contains three letters or three numbers.
- The second field contains four numbers.
- The third field contains two numbers.
- The third field identifies different parts or different configurations.

Some part numbers include a fourth field containing two numbers that indicate a revision change. The higher number is a newer version of the old part.
